Särkisalo and the surrounding area is a versatile kayaking destination. The inland archipelago has sheltered channels and narrows where it is safe for beginners to paddle.

More experienced paddlers will enjoy the open waters and islands that can be found in Särkisalo's outer waters.

The Kiskonjoki River flows through the Perniö countryside and flows into the sea at Särkisalo.

Self-service rental

Kayaks are for self service rental only. The rental time is 2-8 hours. The kayak can be picked up 15 minutes before the agreed rental time. The kayaks are locked. With the instructions you will receive a code to unlock your rental kayak. The kayaks must be returned and cleaned before the end of the rental period.

The kayak is supplied with a life vest, paddle and a spray skirt. The kayaks must be returned in the same condition as how you had them. The hirer is responsible for any damage caused during the rental period.

Pick-up and departure points of kayaks

If you want to take the kayak to another location, you can pick it up yourself or request a shuttle service for a fee.

Prices

  • We rent M-size single kayaks with adjustable footrests.

  • The minimum rental time is 2 hours.

  • The price is €30 for 2 hours and €5 for additional hours. For example, a 4-hour rental is €40.

  • Estimate the rental time: the average paddling speed is 3-6 km per hour, depending on the wind direction and the experience of the paddler. Allow time in the beginning to get the kayak ready for use and to clean it for the next renter.

  • Hire a kayaking guide if you are unsure of your navigation or paddling skills, from €100 per 2 hours.
